INSECTS CONTROL – extermination of sanitary and storage insects (e.g. hornets, wasps, mosquitoes, fleas, bedbugs, ticks).

The most common insects to be found in food processing plants:

  • German cockroach (Blatella germanica) – these insects use rules of simple “democracy”, when “choosing” a hideaway – each of cockroaches has equal influence on group’s fate,
  •

  • Oriental cockroach (Blatella orientalis) – before it starves, it can live for 9 days,
  •

  • American cockroahc (Periplaneta americana),
  •

  • House fly (Musca domestica) – in closed spaces it can reproduces all year long,
  •

  • Confused flour beetle (Tribolium confusum)– this beetle does not fly despite well developed wings,
  •

  • Red flour beetle (Tribolium castaneum)– this species is particularly well adapted to low humidity, it can develop in relative humidity of 1%,
  •

  • Tobacco moth (Ephestia elutella),
  •

  • Flour moth  (Anagasta kuchniella),
  •

  • Indianmeal moth  (Plodia interpunctella) – all developmental phases are immune to low temperatures and can survive in -2ºC for 90 days,
  •

    • Grain weevil (Sitphilus granarius) – after laying eggs females close holes in seeds with a transparent substance used as a chemical signal that prevents overpopulation.

    Control methods:

    • spraying
